Tokyo, June 18: Ðức Ðạt Lai Lạt Ma hôm sáng thứ Sáu 18 tháng 06, đã đến Tokyo, Nhật Bản cho chuyến viêng thăm dài một tuần lễ trên đất nước Nhật Bản này.

Ngài đã được đón tiếp nồng hậu tại phi trường quốc tế Narita bởi những thành viên Nhật Bản của tổ chức ủng hộ Tây tạng, viên chức thuộc Văn Phòng Liên Minh Ðức Ðạt Lai Lạt Ma tại Tokyo, các đại diện từ cộng đồng Tây Tạng tại Nhật Bản, viên chức Ngoại Giao từ Tổng Lãnh Sự Ấn Ðộ. Bốn quản trị viên chùa Zenkoji văn phòng Nagano cũng ở trong các nhóm đón tiếp Ngài ở phi trường Narita.

Mr. Seishu Makino, thành viên của quốc hội Nhật Bản và chủ tịch quốc hội thuộc nhóm ủng hộ Tây Tạng đón tiếp Ðức Ðạt Lai Lạt Ma tại Khách Sạn Marunouchi, nơiNgài sẽ lưu trú một vài ngày. Sau đó trong một cuộc phỏng vấn chớp nhóang của các phóng viên, Ông Makino nói so sánh với thời điểm một thập niên trước hoặc lâu hơn, sự nhận thức về Tây Tạng và sự ủng hộ cho phong trào hòa bình của người Tây Tạng gia tăng rất nhiều mặc dù ông biết rằng sự ủng hộ đại thể chưa được cụ thể hóa để đi vào những hoạt động chính trị do vì sự gia tăng ảnh hưởng nơi kinh tế Trung quốc " Ủng hộ cho Tây Tạngtuy âm thầm nhưng nó gia tăng", ông nói qua thông dịch viên, Ms Suzuli.

Vốn là một nhà hoạt động đấu tranh dân chủ cho Trung quốc, Mr Makino nói ông vẫn hy vọng rằng cơ hội sẽ đến với Trung Hoa. Ông nói về hai tiềm lực là sứ ép cho sự thay đổi này- áp lực quốc tế lâu dài nhằm đòi hỏi dân chủ hóa Trung quốc và sự gia tăng các trường hợp những phong trào đối kháng từ nội tại Trung quốc có thể tạo nên một ảnh hưởng mạnh mẽ cho tươngf lai Trung quốc trong những năm sắp tới. "Có một nhu cầu để cho hai lực lượng này nắm tay nhau thì thay đổi cũng sẽ đến với Trung quốc, ông nói.

Ông Lhakpa Tshoko, đại diện của Ðức Ðạt Lai Lạt Ma tại Tokyo nói chuyến viêng thăm hiện nay của Ðức Ðạt Lai Lạt Ma phản ảnh sự dấy động chưa từng có trong sự ủng hộ của đại thể cho Tây Tạng đặc biệt giữa Phật tử Nhật Bản và giới trẻ Nhật Bản. Ông nói sự nhận thức về tình trạng Tây Tạng đã với tới một tầm cao mới kể từ năm 2007 và đặc biệt năm 2008 khi các tu sĩ tại ngôi chùa Zenkoji từ chối chủ tọa lễ rước đuốc Thế Vận Bắc Kinh để phản đối Trung cộng vẫn tiềp tục đàn áp Phật giáo Tây Tạng. Ông Tshoko nói thái độ này từ các chức sắc thẩm quyền cao nhất của chùa Zenkoji là một hành động bày tỏ tình đoàn kết từ Phật tử Nhật Bản và Phật tử Tây Tạng.

Ðức Ðạt Lai Lạt Ma sẽ tham gia một cuộc họp báo vào sáng mai tại Câu Lạc Bộ Báo Chí Ngoại Quốc Nhật Bản trước khi đến Nagano trong buổi chiều. Trong tuần lễ dài viếng thăm Nhật Bản lần này, Ðức Ðạt Lai Lạt Ma sẽ thuyết giảng nhiều nơi như Nagano, Kanazawa và Yokohama. Ðây là chuyến viếng thăm Nhật Bản lần thứ 14 của Ðức Ðạt Lai Lạt Ma.

Tokyo, June 18: His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in Tokyo this morning for a week-long visit to Japan. He was warmly received at the Narita International airport by Japanese supporters of Tibet; staff of the Liaison Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Tokyo; representatives from the Tibetan community in Japan; and the Protocol Officer from the Indian Consulate. Four administrative officials from the Nagano-based Zenkoji Temple were also among the group that received His Holiness at Narita airport.

Mr. Seishu Makino, member of the Japanese parliament and president of the Parliamentary Group for Tibet received His Holiness at the Marunouchi Hotel where His Holiness will stay for a day and a half. Later in a brief interview with reporters, Mr. Makino said compared to a decade or so ago, awareness about Tibet and support for the Tibetan people’s peaceful movement have grown manifold although he acknowledged that popular support has yet to materialize into concrete political actions due to the increasing influence of the Chinese economy. “Support for Tibet is quiet but growing,” he said through his secretary-cum- interpreter, Ms. Suzuki.

As a longtime activist for democratic change in China, Mr. Makino said he is still hopeful that change will come to China. He talked about two potential forces of change - the sustained international pressure on China to democratize and the growing cases of democratic dissidence in China itself - that could have a significant impact on China’s future in the coming years. “There is a need for these two forces to join hands so change could also come to China,” he said.

Mr. Lhakpa Tshoko, representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Tokyo said the current visit of His Holiness reflects the unprecedented surge in popular support for Tibetan people’s cause especially among Japanese Buddhists and Japanese youth. He said awareness about the Tibetan situation touched a new high since 2007 and particularly in 2008 when the priests at the Zenkoji Temple refused to host the the Beijing Olympic torch relay citing China’s continued repression of Tibetan Buddhists. Mr. Tshoko said this gesture from Zenkoji’s highest authority is an active expression of solidarity from Japanese Buddhists to Tibetan Buddhists.

His Holiness will attend a press conference tomorrow morning at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan before moving to Nagano in the afternoon. In his week-long visit, His Holiness will give a series of religious talks and lectures in Nagano, Kanazawa and Yokohama.

This is the 14th visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Japan.
